Karanambu for Kids

If you visit during the Easter season you may wish to time your stay to join our annual easter egg hunt & kite flying. Easter is also a great time for a fishing trip and definitely for swimming.

We love August for spending time with your tweens, as the water bird nursery in Crane Pond is at its most active and the Honey Ponds offer up easy access for novice birders. There are also chances of spotting caimans on the hunt or giant arapaima with fry in the waters. Or maybe monkeys and orchids among the tree tops in the flood forests.

In October/November you can escape for the weekend and join our Karanambu Bird Festival with added opportunities to learn about bird watching and bird conservation through fun games and contests; just be sure to walk with your binoculars and brush up on your bird skills because everybody has to play regardless of age.

December-Feb offers up lots of great opportunities for those keen on seeing caiman and giant anteaters or trying a walking trail and is usually the best time to pick mango’s from the nearest tree.
